As excitement mounts for the upcoming Heartstrings Experience, I wish to personally
invite you to participate, and join us in our work of relieving the pain of the
broken hearted in Eretz Yisroel. It is a holy task – and one that will bring you
great joy and blessing.
I know the joy of helping the poor, firsthand.
I founded Mesamche Lev in response to the tremendous poverty and desperation I saw
in the homes of Almonos, Yesomim, and Talmidei Chachomim in Eretz Yisroel. In a
very short time, I was giving monthly checks to a long list of almonos; and distributing
generous Yom Tov assistance to hundreds of families from every segment of Klal Yisroel,
including Chassidish, Litvish, Ashkenazi, Sefardi, Yerushalmi, and American Jews.
I insisted on one thing – the dignity of the poor must never be compromised.
Still, there was a need for more. Today, Mesamche Lev has mushroomed into a tremendous
tzedakah empire, with programs that relieve much poverty and bring much joy to the
broken hearted. Our annual budget is millions of dollars a year. Those dollars help
us ease the burden of lonely widows. They let us dry the tears of grieving orphans.
And they eliminate the hunger, shame and despair that so many in Eretz Yisroel have
come to know.
